The castle and the garden together are the green heart of Budapest. The building itself houses many museums, project rooms and periodic exhibitions about Hungarian wildlife and agriculture.
I’ve taken my wife for a romantic walk here many times. The environment is beautiful: it’s surrounded by Budapest’s oldest trees, a nice lake where you can go pedalo-ing in summer and small bridges that take you back centuries. I have seen people doing yoga here, studying, or just hiding from the noisy capital.
In the garden you will meet families, couples walking their dogs and hikers on their long-awaited weekend trip. It has a bar and a restaurant, open all-year-long, and in summer there’s always something going on. Since we first walked here, it’s our first thought every time we miss nature. It’s lovely in every season!
