Mediterranean is a popular lunch option in Chicago and this place stands above the rest with its quick service and perfect cookery. This weekday-only lunch spot in the Chicago Loop is always crowded, and for good reason. Although the line can seem intimidating, stretching outside the door, the place is not very big so don’t be turned off.
My favorite thing to get is the sampler. The sampler comes with three smaller, but not small, pitas filled with steak, chicken and falafel. The steak and chicken pack a ton of flavor while the falafel is the most tender I’ve had in Chicago. Ordering the sampler eliminates any struggle I have deciding between meats. If I’m looking for a healthier option they also do boxed salads. The salads feature all the same toppings and flavors of the pitas without the carbs.
The fries are so good they shouldn’t really be called a side dish. The fries are thicker cut and seasoned to perfection. Sometimes I like thick, tender fries and sometimes thin, crispy fries. I get the best of both worlds here. The nonconformity of the fries plays to my advantage because the smaller pieces get really crisp and the larger pieces are soft and tender. Oh and I always get the cheese sauce on the side.
