People are crazy about their beef and love good burgers here in the Midwest. Epic Burger in Chicago has managed to become a leader in this craze with its own adaptation of what a Burger joint should be. Their goal: “a more mindful burger.”
Oftentimes compared to popular chains in the US like In-N-Out Burger or shake shack, Epic Burger is Chicago’s very own “better burger.” The menu is simple and information about what’s in your food is readily available, making you feel slightly better about eating something “bad.” Just knowing that all of their beef, turkey and chicken are naturally raised and additive-free makes me feel better about ordering one of their delicious milkshakes to go with it! My personal favorite is their peanut butter skinny shake made with nonfat yogurt.
When it comes to ordering, their menu is simple, but there are still a lot of options on how you can build a burger to your liking. They offer three great premium Wisconsin Cheeses: aged cheddar, horseradish Havarti or premium blue. They also make their own epic sauce and offer your basic toppings, as well as upgrades such as a fried egg, avocado or bacon for a small additional fee.
For those of you out there that are meat-free, they have a delightful Portobello sandwich or a darn good grilled cheese.
