Everyone should have a neighbourhood bar that they can go to when they are in the mood for traditional pub-grub like a tasty burger or buffalo chicken wings with a few beers. The Jefferson Tap and Grille is just that for us with affordable but super tasty food and a fair selection of draft and bottled beers for a relaxed evening out.
The portions are fairly large and my favourite is the Black Angus burger made with ground Angus beef and the typical lettuce, tomato, onion and pickle toppings with a variety of cheeses to choose from. For those who work in West Loop, this is a really convenient lunch spot and they have specials on food and drinks all the time. Diners get true value for money at this pub. It is spread across two floors and the patio is ideal for the few summer months Chicago has. The service is always friendly and there are a number of TVs set up to watch whichever game is on that night.
I often catch up with friends after-work at this spot during happy hours on Thursdays at 5 pm and Fridays at 4 pm.
