Latinicity – Latin street food and market

The Latinicity┬ámarket complex within the Block 37 mall on State Street is a perfect place to have an extra long lunch after shopping. The focus here is on the cafeteria style food counters that offer tastes from all over Latin America. Richard Sandoval, famous international chef, is one of the proprietors of this joint venture. Putting his name to market all but guarantees you’ll find authentic and tasty food here.

Although there are many counters featuring authentic Latin cuisine, my go to spot is a fusion counter called Burguesa. The counter has a chorizo burger that is topped with manchego cheese and bacon mojo amongst other things. It hits all the flavor profiles with a nice spicy kick.

The full service, tapas restaurant is the best place to go if you find yourself there for dinner hours. Pata Negra has a mix of traditional tapas and heartier dinner entrees. The grilled octopus with potatoes is perfect. Bacon-wrapped medjool dates are the equivalent of cheating as a chef because they can never be bad, and of course they are great here.

Latinicity is said to be a market, lounge, bar and more. Really, it’s best to view it as a great restaurant to experience a wide array of Latin style cuisine.
