You love books? You love cafés? Check out Café Goldmund! It’s not only a café, but it’s a literature café and a restaurant. You can sit there surrounded by books (some of them you can buy and some of them are part of the bookcrossing project, so if you’re lucky, you might find some real treasures there) and enjoy a Latte macchiato (with loads of milk froth) or a freshly pressed orange juice -delicious!
The Café Goldmund is open from early morning to late at night (08:00 until 01:00). So it’s always time for Goldmund: to have a rich breakfast in the morning (‘breakfast 2’ gives me everything I need for a long Saturday in Cologne), a quick coffee in the afternoon or a first (and second) drink and a snack (try the hummus on a baguette) in the evening.
From time to time there are readings and concerts, some of them are free of charge. But be quick, the tickets are in great demand.
The Goldmund is also a perfect place for long summer evenings. You can sit in the beer garden at the station forecourt of the station Köln-Ehrenfeld and have a freshly tapped Kölsch or a Fassbrause.
Inside or outside, early or late, it is always a good choice! It’s the cosy and relaxed atmosphere that make the Goldmund one of my (and also one of your?) favourite places in Cologne.
