You love flea markets? But it is not Saturday or Sunday? The solution for your problems is the Emmaus Community. They run an indoor flea market in Cologne-Niehl where you can find everything you (don’t) need: books, clothes, bikes, furniture …My flat is full of findings from the Emmaus Community. The prices in the shop are very moderate and not fixed.
The best of all is that you support the Emmaus community with you shopping. It’s a community that acts globally and is open for everyone who is willing to work with them. Some people find a new home in the community, some just want to realize and live a different lifestyle.
If you don’t want to go that far (the indoor fleamarktet in Cologne-Niehl at the Geestemünder Str. 42 is a bit outside of town) you should drop in the Emmaus-Shop in Nippes which is run by some very nice old ladies and gents who work voluntarily. They can of course only offer a choice of things, but still, nine times out of ten I find what I was looking for. So go and find your own favourite piece!
And by the way: the café Eichhörnchen is just around the corner.
