Father Rhine – Between the bridges

Every Sunday, Winter, Spring, Summer or Autumn, the Germans are indulging in their passion for going for a walk. My favourite walk leads along the Rhine between the Zoobrücke and the Mülheimer Brücke on the left side of the Rhine.

Far away from the Dom and the lively city centre, close enough to the next train station (Zoo/Flora) to bring your tired feet home, you will find the the perfect place to get some fresh air and to enjoy the panorama of the Rhine and the city.

On the other side of the bank you can see Köln-Mülheim, which is always worth a visit (chekc the Jakubowski article) and the Rheinpark, another great place for a walk.  On your side of the bank the zoo and the Flora are not far.

I always enjoy the calming atmosphere of the water and love to see the ships passing by (and sometimes make fun of their strange names). Take a stone from the river as a souvenir. You will find them in all sizes and shapes if you keep your eyes open…
