Sometimes, you find the best places where you least expect them: Heumarkt is not really where locals would go to for dinner or drinks as it is one of the most touristy parts of town. So when a friend invited me for dinner at La Tagliatella right there, I was skeptical at first.
But the decor already surprised me when I entered. Very classy, maybe even a bit tacky with all its gold chandeliers and dark wood carvings. You only notice the size of La Tagliatella (there is space for almost 150 people!) when you climb the stairs to the next floor.
What I like most about this good pasta place is the huge choice. First, there are nine different traditional pastas from Penne to Tagliatelle and Rigatoni. Then, the menu offers eight homemade stuffed pastas (I loved the goat cheese and bacon). Each of them can be ordered with one of 13 sauces – in total that’s an incredible number of 221 different pasta choices! The portions are huge, but it’s still hard to resist the desserts that are super sweet and really tasty.
