Wullf+Konstali is a strange little shop. It is part small café, part coffee house, but mostly it’s a place where you can buy delicious things. They call themselves a Food Shop and I think that is quite an accurate name.

In the small shop there are a few places to sit, an Apple iMac with internet access for free use, free wi-fi, but most people stop in to pick something up on the way somewhere.

In the morning people choose the freshly made bread from the artisanal bakery on their way to work. Later in the day the delicious sandwiches and salads are popular with local business people and various workers in the area. When people start getting off work they stop by to bring home Beuf Bourgoignon or Spagetti Bolognese.

For the sweet tooth, there is a large selection of quality chocolates from Summerbird as well as home made cookies, brownies and cupcakes. And of course a selection of coffees, tea and juices.

The bakery is located on Lergravsvej 57, 2300 København S and has the same hours and selection as Wulff+Konstali on Isafjordsgade as well as an open bakery where you can watch the bakers in action.

Not long ago I discovered Cafe Tjili Pop and I have to say, it was such a great find! From the outside you may think: where am I going into? But once you are there, you forget about the image of the outside. It’s such a cozy and warm place, that you really feel like spending some hours just chillin’ there!

As I went in, I started looking for a table, but before picking the first one I saw, I decided to look around. Seriously, I was so surprised! You will find some cozy tables and benches in one corner, and then you go through a hallway and find yourself in another room with more tables in different shapes and sizes. So cool!

After sitting down, go to the counter and order what you want. I recommend some of the delicious sandwiches they make (the goat cheese one was super good). Their kitchen is really small, but they make food with pleasure and you actually see the effort they put in by the presentation of the plates.

The music was great and there was even a fellow neighbor singing along very loud next to us – at least he had a good voice . The whole atmosphere was just right for a Sunday brunch time! But any mood you’re in, this place will be a right fit!

The title says it all, in danish “hygge” means something very cozy, so… Enjoy the Cafe and the neighborhood, Nørrebro, you will not regret it!

Ok, there are many good coffee places in the city, but I couldn’t let The Coffee Collective pass unnoticed. This place (a specialty coffee micro roastery and coffee consulting company) is heaven for coffee lovers. I have to admit one thing: I am a Brazilian girl that doesn’t really like coffee, but in this place, I drink at least 2 cups!

The place is small, but has a great lively vibe. People usually take coffee to go, but I like to sit there and see what is going on! There is always someone coming or going, but yet you feel relaxed. I sit by the window, get myself a book and immerse in the world of coffee! I was there once, right after they roasted some beans in the big roaster they placed in the middle of the shop. What a great smell!!

There are four owners and they all live for coffee. They have a World Barista Champion, a World Cup Tasting Champion, an internationally acclaimed roast master, etc. Another thing: not only they sell coffee, but it’s all Direct Trade. As they say, “good coffee begins with good ethics”.

You can also enjoy the surroundings of the charming neighborhood, Nørrebro, where the shop is located. Definitely go by Assistensens Kirkegård, an old cemetery, where H.C Andersen is buried (it resembles more like a park than an actual cemetery). The shop just opened another branch at the very cool Torvehallerne, a food market of modernist glass sheds. A must visit!

Wonderful layer cakes (or lagkager, in danish). Amazing hot chocolate. A journey into the past. Those are a few things I can say about The Conditori La Glace. It’s a very popular place between the locals, so be ready to wait for a table. But let me tell you, it’s totally worth the wait.

And while you wait, if that’s the case, try to pick the flavor of cake you want! What a challenge! When you have such an assortment, it gets really difficult to make up your mind. Last time I was there, I tried The Golden Tower one and it was superb!

The Conditori La Glace is the oldest in Denmark and it was founded in 1870. So, when you go in their beautiful rooms it’s really like stepping into the past. Some of their furniture is from 1890′s and one of the rooms have been kept almost like in 1924! That’s what I mean about the journey. It’s such an experience to go there!

And it doesn’t stop here. The location couldn’t be better. Imagine a day in Copenhagen where you are strolling down the famous shopping street Strøget, right in the heart of the city, carrying lots of bags (or not), feeling a bit tired… Wouldn’t be just wonderful to stop for a while, have a delicious piece of layer cake and a nice cup of hot chocolate? Visit La Glace and you will know what I mean!

Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek is an art museum of international stature in the centre of Copenhagen. It’s right next to Tivoli and it’s such an impressive building that you can’t miss it! The Glyptotek is not just another art museum, it is also architecture, ancient and modern art, beauty, culture and relaxing!

The Glyptotek houses over 10.000 works of art divided into two principal collections. One of them is works from the Mediterranean cradle and the other is of Danish and French art from the 19th and 20th centuries. And in addition to the permanent collection, the museum also mounts very special exhibitions. In recent years these have included “Whispers – works on paper by Ian McKeever”, for an example.

A stroll around the building is worth your time and like the Museum advertises, Glyptoteket is a place to be experienced. Amazing rooms, interesting surroundings, excellent art collections, a peaceful garden in the back and a very nice and informed staff, ready to help you with any requests you might need!

And another reason to visit the museum: their wonderful cafe, which is right under the dome, around the winter garden. The cafe is full of of surprises for those craving a nice cup of tea, wonderful pastries and/or some lunch!

It’s free entrance on Sundays, so you’ll probably find full house. But get past the people and enjoy a world of art, culture and pleasure!

When you look at the picture with this article you probably don’t see a very nice place, right? Well, the picture doesn’t do Boutique Lize any justice at all! This bar is a very good option for a cheap and great cocktail.

Boutique Lize has had its up and downs. In 2007/2008, it was one of the trendiest bars in the Vesterbro neighborhood with many other bars and discos around. In other years, the competition started growing and maybe the line outside dwindled a little. But Boutique Lize managed to keep its clientele and continued to be a very popular hang out.

But what is there not to like? They have full house most of the time, so you are sure to find interesting people. They serve a great variety of cocktails at very affordable prices. It is located within walking distance from one of the most famous night clubs and venues in town, Vega. And if you are there early enough you may be able to sit at the far end of the bar by their cool jukebox.

But don’t worry If you don’t get that spot. Stand up, enjoy your cocktail, chat with people and have some fun. Let the night surprise you! And beginning the evening at Boutique Lize is not a bad idea!!

Have you been shopping all day? Or walking around the city looking at sights? Are your feet screaming for a break and your mind graving for a moment off from the fuss on the streets? How about a break in the city’s book mecca?

In the very middle of the city you can find Hovedbiblioteket -The main library. Especially during the daytime this is an excellent place to go have a moment of quiet, afternoons might be a bit busier as people get off from work and the numerous students of Copenhagen roll in to study.

The recently renovated main library has lots of places to lounge with a good book: chairs, lean chairs, couches, you name it. They have a quite comprehensive selection of foreign books and newspapers, too, so there’s a read for everybody.

And if you wish to have a cup of coffee to accompany your break, head to the brand new coffee joint based on the ground floor called Democratic café, their coffee is totally out of this world.

Adventure or relaxation? They have it all! DGI -Byen is a home to all kinds of activities you can imagine -and right in the middle of the city. They are specialized in offering business-meeting/relaxation -combos, parties for companies and clubs and -of course- experiences to everyone.

This is a fantastic place for the whole family to spend a day doing what interests them  the most. Up for some action? Go try one of the cool sports they offer: water spinning, rock-wall climbing, scuba-diving, badminton, shooting or my favorite, bowling. There is also an inside rock climbing wall and jump towers in the Water culture -house, a certain high point for every teenager -kids family trip. It’s also possible to buy a training pass for a day to their well-equipped gym.

Tired of all the walking and travelling? Pamper yourself with a day in the Spa with loads of the incredible treatments included to the entrance fee. How does a long afternoon with sauna, swimming and cozying in front of a fireplace with a cup of good tea sound like? And if the relaxation isn’t enough to get your mind off the busy life, one can also book a massage to make the trip to DGI -byen absolutely perfect.

After all the action and relaxation is nice to have something to eat, and I recommend to go have a dinner at Vestauranten, the center’s own restaurant. Delicious way to end a perfect day.

This really is the closest to a home made goods you can get to in this city. Krummen og Kagen (or Crumb and Cake) is a cute little home bakery meets a café – combination in the very heart of the fancy residential area of Østerbro.

Whether you are in the mood for a salty snack or a sweet treat to accompany your afternoon coffee, this is your spot to visit. They offer a variety of home baked goods from cakes and buns to breakfast rolls and sandwiches. I especially like a breakfast roll of theirs filled with some good cheese, enjoyed with a huuuuuuge cup of excellent coffee and to finish the snacking with a piece of raspberry pie (if wanted, whipped cream can be added, do try!).

Krummen og kagen has also the interior suited to the homemade – concept: wooden chairs, benches covered with pillows and even a rocking chair! They also sell some excellent chocolates, not a bad idea to bring as a gift.

So this is where they keep the tasty, rich -flavored bread! Foodshop 26 is again one of the cafés in Copenhagen gone wild about ecological food. But oh how it is tasty! The flour and the seeds used to the bread they bake themselves is stone-grinded and without any additives.

Along with the baked goods they also make their marmalades themselves, which by the way are the tastiest marmalades I’ve ever tasted! I fell in love with their Apricot-vanilla mix, that is spiced with real Tahiti -vanilla, definitely worth a try!

I’d recommend visiting Foodshop 26 especially in the morning, and ordering one of their Morning plates. They have plenty of variations to choose from, including bread of your choice accompanied for example by eggs, yoghurt topped with maple syrup, variety of sausages and cheeses and jam. Add a can of their fresh-squeezed orange juice and a café latte and you get a tasty, nutritious and filling start to your morning. And even if you’re travelling with a bigger group, there’s a chance to enjoy your breakfast together around the bigger communal breakfast -style table.

As the name implies, this is also a food shop. There is a wide selection of treats, mostly ecological, from jams, chocolates and cakes to salty treats, ready-meals and daily groceries. There is also a “sister-shop” called Foodshop 55 close to Bella Center metro st.
