Månefiskeren – Kicking back in the city

It almost seems ridiculous to recommend more spots at Christiania. You might as well go there and see it all, but that wouldn’t make much of a blog, would it?

Månefiskeren is one of my favorite places. Not because the menu holds anything too special or alluring in any way, actually the whole thing is mediocre at best, but because it’s probably the best hangout spot in the entire city. The atmosphere is amazing in summertime outside Månefiskeren, where people eat food, drink cold beers and listen to the DJ, who’s always turning records. You have to be patient if you want to eat something at Månefiskeren – mostly because the staff seems to be stoned all the time and most likely will forget your order entirely.

Luckily you can bring your own food or beverages (no alcohol is served). There is no fancy brunch or anything that resembles it, but if you come at the right time (early!) Månefiskeren will be quiet and you should enjoy a truly Danish breakfast – coffee and white bread with cheese and cucumber, or oatmeal with milk and sugar. During wintertime it is really nice to sit inside with a bun just out of the oven, and a steaming glass of tea.

You can also find Internet and a pool table. Sometimes you may stumble upon a concert at night, but the true bliss lies in the hot summer chill-out with all your friends and half of Copenhagen.
