Mormor is Danish for your grandmother on your mothers side, and Mormors is like coming home to grandma’. This place is one of a kind and I highly recommend it. And located in Bredgade with all the galleries and just by Amalienborg Castle this should be on your list.
At Mormors you can get sandwiches, home made cakes, cookies and hot and cold drinks. They also serve breakfast the old fashioned way with oatmeal porridge. Mormor is also modern enough to make a wide range of delicious smoothies. But the most special treat is the biscuit cake or kiksekage as it is called in Danish. This is a layered cake made with biscuits and a very heavy chocolate filling. My mormor used to make this for Christmas, but I can eat this all year round. Great with strong, black coffee.
The cafe is decorated in a cute retro style with floral tapestry, tiny lamps and the atmosphere is peaceful and friendly. So stop buy Mormors and get good taken care of.
