About me
Born and having lived my whole life in Copenhagen (except from a few years in London), I know the city well. And am very fond of it.
Today, I live less than 10 minutes walk from Copenhagen center and I use the city extensively. Of course for the day-to-day practical stuff but also for exploring and enjoying – almost always with a camera at hand.
I recently left the IT industry, where I had been working since 1985, to instead pursue, professionally, my passion for photography. The places I spot for this blog, are places that I use. Some of them more than others, but they all have a common quality to them: They are places where I go to watch life as it plays out before my eyes – or in the viewfinder of my camera.
Copenhagen
Is full of stories. Being, as it is, more than a thousand years old, it is a mature social and architectural entity and beares evidence of both the continuity and the profound outside influences that have all contributed to its history. In fact, it is only recently – within the last 10-20 years – that Copenhagen has begun to shed its fairytale post WWII atmosphere, with the aspirations of becoming a true metropol.
Copenhagen is the capital without a skyline. Nothing is spectacular – well maybe there are a few outstanding sights – but Copenhagen’s attraction lies in underplayed charm and the almost subdued quality… aestethically and of life. I would want for anyone to come and spend a good time here.
