I like colors A LOT. And therefore I like The á la Menthe A LOT.
This Moroccan place, in the middle of the grey Copenhagen buildings, lights up, even from the outside. When you go through the glass door, there are color clashes all over, splashed with Moroccan lamps and picture frames. You get happy, just by walking through the door. This must really be a “mission accomplished” for the owners, who claim the place is the first “hippie-be-happy-tea-saloon”.
Go in and get comfortable on one of the couches and order yourself a Mint Tea and a piece of cake. You won’t get disappointed and you will want to sit there the rest of the afternoon. Luckily you can, cause for a (more than) fair price for the inner city, you can get a complete plate of four different kinds of salad and meats or samosa, when you start to get hungry. All dishes can be chosen as a vegetarian or meat option and most allergies can be accommodated.
Do yourself a favor and don’t order some regular coffee here. Go for a chai, a cinnamon coffee or my favorite – and their pride and joy it seems – the Mint Tea.
Go get happy, you hippie!
