This shop seems to stock the sort of obscure books you would never normally buy but end up buying anyway. But I don’t mean that in a bad way, in fact it’s what I like about Books Upstairs. They offer a more alternative selection of books (feminism, LGBT) but at the same time stock a good range of more well-known works, especially in Irish literature and history. The somewhat cramped space also allows you that guilty pleasure of being able to look at that what the person next to you is reading. Great bargains are usually to be had as well and if you’re so inclined, copies of various left wing journals are usually available too- very handy for any right-on and earnest students of politics across the road.
