As shown above, this is my dish ordered recently in W.J. Kavanagh pub in the northern part of Dublin city center. I was mainly looking for a good craft beer place around the corner from where I live, and I spotted an Off License shop (typical for Ireland and UK, where you can buy alcoholic beverages) and a pub next to it. As it turns out, both belong to the same owner. I looked at the food menu and understood that only a craft beer would not be enough as I am hungry.
Very quick service, cozy venue, good music – and craft beers that change every couple of weeks. I had a pint of fruity pale ale from Ireland that just arrived a few days before. Chicken wings as a starter were good (chilly seasoning) and came together with an incredible blue cheese sauce – I am a big fan of those delicacies and never get it right when I try to make the sauce at home.
My main was a 6oz steak that I ordered with mash potatoes and pepper sauce – great value for money! And I will go back to try new craft beers soon.
