I just had family with children visit from abroad. By the end of the trip, the kids were complaining of pains in their tummies from all the rich food. I think even adults can get to that point when on holiday. It was only after they left that it occurred to me how perfect Honest To Goodness would’ve been for them.
This breakfast and lunch place is based on simple principles – everything made daily from scratch, natural ingredients, and fresh-baked bread without preservatives. In the same way as kids would request meals catered to their exact tastes, Honest To Goodness offers each person their own laminated menu and marker pen, and you tick off your bread, fillings and sides of choice. Handing back a completed menu to the staff is something kids would also surely love… As an adult I admit I enjoy it too!
If you’re trying to eat healthily it’s nice to know there’s a cafe where the calories stay low and the food stays tasty. On my most recent trip I had the roast chicken wrap: chicken, avocado, tomato, cucumber, avocado crème fraîche dressing and mixed leaves. Eating something genuinely natural and unprocessed in a restaurant, you really notice how much better it tastes.
I’ve yet to try it, but they’ve recently branched into an evening pizza menu, prepared with the same principles. Can’t wait!
Go here if you need a respite from rich holiday food, and want honest to goodness ingredients. Your tummy will thank you!
