Food trucks are unfortunately still a rarity in Dublin, but one Mexican food truck has been building a great reputation since it found a permanent home. K.Chido has been building a regular fan base among locals and office workers in the Capel Street/Courts District of the city. The brightly decorated food truck serves freshly made authentic Mexican food out of the storage area of a cash and carry. They serve breakfast and lunch and open late occasionally (check their facebook to be sure). They also serve up a weekend brunch menu that looks great. The breakfast burrito is the best challenge I have seen yet to Dublin’s more traditional high calorie day-starter, the breakfast roll.
I’m a big fan of their tacos, although they are incredibly difficult and antisocial to eat. The fajita is a little more manageable and very tasty. Everything is cooked right in front of you, so you can decide how spicy you would like it. The food tastes fresh and clean, not half as stodgy as a lot of Dublin’s burrito places.
You can have the food there, sitting on colourfully painted wooden pallets, or take it away.
