At the start of 2009, there was an empty void in my life. Because of a fire in a shop next to it, Honest to Goodness was gutted and forced to close. Part of me was afraid it would never open again but I’m happy to say that this small cafĂ© in the George’s Street Arcade is back in business.
The best time to come here is early on Saturday or weekday mornings when it’s relatively quiet because it gets busy quickly.
The food on offer is of the good hearty variety and for my money, it makes the best Irish breakfast in Dublin – no reheated sausages here! You really get the impression that the guys here work as a team and there is something very comforting about hearing and seeing your food being made. Most of the food is available for take-away too.
