The Cavern is located just underneath an off licence called Baggot Street Wines and it is a hidden gem that has become very popular with locals in the area. The restaurant can be accessed from the off licence itself or through the street entrance. The walls along the stairs have framed prints with wine quotes and it is really nicely decorated. It is possible to sit both inside and outside – I love the outside area as they have lots of heaters and blankets to keep you warm if it is cold.
My favourite food has to be their mixed meat & cheese boards which can be shared with 3 or 4 people depending on your appetite! The boards are served with lovely crackers and warm bread too! As a wine bar, The Cavern has a great selection of wines to choose from and the staff always have great recommendations too. I love their Albarino!
Definitely a lovely spot if you are looking for a cosy wine bar with great music and food! The Cavern is quite popular with locals in the area so I would recommend making a reservation to avoid disappointment.
