There’s already a couple of places in Edinburgh we spotters like for their burgers (check the Holyrood 9A article). But, while the other spots offer great burgers in a pub setting, Burger offers a unique opportunity for good quality fast food in Edinburgh.
The menu’s pretty simple – a handful of burger variations accompanied by shakes, beer or wine, followed by ice cream or sorbet – and focused on quality, local ingredients that are prepared to order.
For a long time, I stuck to the classic burger as I didn’t think it could get any better, but having recently branched out I’ve not been disappointed yet. The veggie burgers are amazing! The fries, made daily from russet potatoes, are perfectly crunchy and not stringy as you often get in fast food places. My latest discovery is the sticky toffee pudding shake. Sticky Toffee Pudding is one of the best Scottish desserts there is and the idea of put it in a shake is genius!
Whenever you visit keep an eye out for their every changing specials. There are some great themed offerings. Last Christmas they had a ‘Chickmas’ burger on offer, but I do miss the ‘Cheeses-of-Nazareth’!
