This legendary comedy club plays host to some of the best comedians there are and is a much loved Edinburgh institution. It is a very small, intimate space where you will find yourself up-close and personal with some of the best acts preforming today.

The Stand has a lot to offer with free comedy on a Sunday afternoon where you can come along for a hearty plate of food before some mid-afternoon laughs to their head lining late shows on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. The intimacy of the venue is fantastic and makes for a very friendly, vibrant atmosphere. It is great to find yourself mingling with the comedians between sets. I like to sit on the front row, but this is not for the faint hearted — you might find yourself dragged on stage to become part of the act!

If you find yourself in Edinburgh through the week, The Stand has other events on every night, such as its legendary Monday “Red Raw” night. Entry on the door is only £3 and you can expect to see established comedians trying out new material or new comedians trying out their very first gig. This night is also famous for some of the celebrity faces that make surprise appearances to try out new material.
