Touring around a town can be tiring, especially when you cannot spend as much time as seeing everything would require. It often happens that your feet and legs call for a break while your eyes are still hungry for more beauty. Have no fear, I’m going to recommend a place that is the perfect solution to this hard dilemma.
In the very centre of Florence, inside a shop named “la Rinascente”, there’s a very nice café where you can have a seat and take a break. You will probably be thinking: “what’s so special about it?”. The view. This café is placed on the top of the building, on a terrace where you can comfortably sit while taking a glance over the roofs of the town displayed 360 degrees around you. I always knew this café existed, but I didn’t realize it had such a panoramic view until a few years ago, when I came across it while looking for a toilet (that, by the way, is on the 4th floor). Since then, I take there people I want to impress.
My advice is to visit this place after you’ve already spent one or two days, at the least, in Florence: this way, while you’re enjoying the view of the downtown, you will also be able to recognise some buildings you’ve already seen from a more familiar ground-level perspective.
