For more than two hundred years Apfelwein Solzer has been open for the thirsty and the hungry. Family owned originally, closed only during wars, it’s now operated by a proprietor, his name Christian Dressler.
These days open during the summer from 16:00 – 00:00 and from 13:00 on Sundays. During the winter months the place opens an hour later. The “Solzer” is a – no question – hot tip. The local people seem to know that and occupy the restaurant accordingly, yet invaders from outer galaxies will receive a warm and friendly welcome as well. The first question the waitresses will ask, is “beer” or “apple cider?” In no time the mug is placed in front of you. Cheers!
Along with the music in the background and the rest of the noise, it’s a hilarious atmosphere you imbedded yourself in. The food you can order is what you’d call “rural, country style”. Whatever you choose, it will kill your hunger and cut it down to zero. The “Solzer” is the place if you want to mingle with the real local natives. Don’t miss it. It’d be a shame.
