Even though many university buildings were moved to the new campus, Bockenheim still keeps much of its student-neighbourhood character. This quarter can give you a glimpse of the daily lifestyle in Frankfurt.

Start with a visit to the Natural History Museum – which is why you can find dinosaurs on the street. Afterwards choose one of the many great places where you can have a light meal – Bodrum or Wayang are great choices.

Head north and visit the Grüneburgpark and the Palmengarten – both very special locations, where you can enjoy nature and forget that you are in the city.

Now you will probably feel like having a nice cup of coffee or tea. Head back to the Leipzigerstrasse and visit Kaffeerösterei Stern, so you can recharge your batteries with a nice cappuccino and slice of cake.

Now, are you ready for some shopping? You will find plenty of stores nearby, selling interesting local products or sophisticated gifts. You shouldn’t miss the Kochhaus (maybe you can even participate in a workshop – check the programme in advance). The Karl Marx bookstore is also a rather particular specimen that you should not miss.

How about the evening programme? Start with a small beer or with a glass of wine at Zum Tannenbaum, or at the Weinkontor. If you would like to enjoy a nice movie-night, head over to Orfeos Erben. Otherwise, take your time to enjoy a nice meal at Immer Satt or Pizzeria Paolo, before you go partying at your place of choice.
