When visiting Frankfurt you should not miss walking down its famous pedestrian road the Fressgasse all the way down to the old Opera (‘Alte Oper’). On this pedestrian road you can find many shops and delicatessen stores and it is the absolute best meeting place during lunch time. During my lunch break I often prefer Ebert’s Suppenstube.
Ebert is actually a famous butcher and delicatessen shop in Frankfurt. What most people do not know is that the owners also run a small soups bistro, where you can find the best soups in Frankfurt. Since I cannot stand working after a full lunch menu, I was looking for a lighter choice, when I found Ebert Suppenstube.
They offer a quite big variety of fresh homemade soups including standard as well as daily choices. I still cannot decide whether I like the lentils soup or the potato soup more, but I still dream of their yummy pumpkin soup I had once. During lunch hour there is usually a big queue (like in the picture!), but I have never been waiting long. Admittedly I also like to read the soup recipes on the walls while waiting to order my soup!
Many guests prefer to have, next to a soup, a grilled sausage or another sandwich, the quality and taste thereof is guaranteed; remember I told you the owners originally owned a delicatessen soter? Most of the seating options are outdoors, which makes it a perfect choice for the sunny days.

I’ll definitely go there next time I’m in Frankfurt!
