Every time I go to the Kleine Hölle, I cannot avoid feeling nostalgic. It takes me back to my home town, to the ancient bars that used to be there, and to the feeling of being in a place where people know you and relate to you, in a very particular way.
The Kleine Hölle is a medieval-oriented pub, managed by a very charismatic owner, who loves the place he runs. This dedication is what makes the Kleine Hölle such a unique place. Usually, there is little advertising done, because the idea is precisely to keep it as a community-based place – a place where friends come through a friend, and join the crew, as it used to be.
The music ranges from folk, to synth-pop and new wave, from black metal to gothic rock. The Kleine Hölle is definitely not a place for the mainstream.
If you’re up for a drink, there is plenty to choose from: Beer, Mett, Apfelwein, as well as several kinds of liqueurs (Schnapps, comparable to Brandy). The Hazelnut Schnapps is particularly popular – ask for the Nutella Schnapps or Nüsschen, he will know what you are referring to.
The Kleine Hölle is the perfect place for beginning the night, or for going for a drink after a concert. Gather your pack and head there on the next full moon. The environment is 100% guaranteed!
