Strandcafé – Soho goes Frankfurt

Considering that Strand stands for beach in German, one could expect sea and sun? No! Strandcafé is an an absolutely local spot in the residual area of Nordend. The brick-covered wall in the back of the café or the small library full with books and board games creates a friendly atmosphere. I love seating close to the big window, looking outside on a snowy day or reading a book.

I would advise you to visit Strandcafé on weekends, as their breakfast is delicious; don’t miss their pancakes! But this does not mean that this is not a good choice for any other day of the week. Locals meet here during the week over a cup of coffee, tea or wine after work. Their daily menus include soups, salads and other classics. You can even watch the cook preparing the dishes in the almost open kitchen of the café. When the weather is good, take advantage of the small terrace outside!
