White tiles, solid wood, an open kitchen, bottles of wine piling up in every corner and Jamon Serrano hanging from the walls. No, you are not in Madrid, you are in the middle of Frankfurt, but the lively atmosphere and delicious food will transfer you to a Spanish tapas restaurant.
Lamoraga is actually a restaurant chain with origins in Malaga and opened its gates in Frankfurt last October. The aim is to offer affordable luxury. Star chefs are conjuring delicious creations by reinterpreting traditional Spanish dishes with a modern approach. Gazpacho, the traditional Spanish tomato soup for example, also comes with cherries.
Since I studied in Spain, I was very excited about the opening and could not wait to finally try the fusion creations. I had the Bacalao (codfish), which literally melted in my mouth. The fish was very tender and had a sweet honey flavor. As a side dish I chose the grilled vegetables, which was very delicious. Prices are a bit above average and the portions are not very big, but you will not suffer from hunger.
The lounge-bar within the restaurant invites you to have a relaxed drink or cocktail after dinner. Viva Espana!
