I already described the Saturday farmers’ market at the “Kontablerwache” with my article about “Tante Muh“. After or before visiting the Milk – or Bratwurst stand, you may feel a little bit thirsty.
Maybe the best way to solve this challenge is to grab yourself a glass of the delicious Rheingau-Riesling (white-wine, Germany’s best) at the “Weinstand” at the side of the market opposite to Tante Muh.
You will often find me there with my friends after a shopping invasion at the “Zeil” or just for spontaneous tasting of the newly arrived wines. Anyhow it is the “place to be” on Saturdays to exchange the latest gossip, get or stay in touch with new people or old friends and acquaintances.
Prices are fair: you can get a – filled to the brim – glass of fine wine for € 2.70. Premium wines sell at around € 4 – 5. The only thing I can’t recommend is the German red-wine – go for the white one!
