I am super excited for this year’s Antigel Festival. More than three weeks and four weekends (26 January – 17 February) of amazingly cool activities, exhibitions, performances, music, theater, clubbing etc etc. As you may know, winters in Geneva can get a little bit boring but this festival definitely gives the city a little kick and a big boost of energy.
There will be so much happening – I don’t even know where to start. It is only the 8th edition this year but the festival has been a huge success so far. This year I am particularly looking forward to it because Jane Birkin, Charlotte Gainsbourg and Glen Hansard are only three of the big names that are coming. As a big modern dance fan I am especially excited about all the dance performances which are part of this festival. I mean, a dance performance in the museum of the International Committee of the Red Cross? I think only Geneva manages to bridge the worlds of art and humanitarianism in such an elegant and innovative way. Check out the programme!
Of course, there is also the traditional roller skate party, a good alternative to ice-skating and freezing outside. But be careful, it can get wild – my flatmate broke her arm two years ago.
