Got a hankering for great pasta? Got kids that need feeding and no desire to cook tonight? I’ve got a solution for you: Les Tilleuls, a delicious Italian spot 5 minutes from the center of town in an area called St. Jean.
The home-made pasta dishes are a personal favourite of mine (try the penne sicilienne!) with huge portions and deep flavours. Of course, if your tastes veer to the more dough-tomato-and-cheese realm, Les Tilleuls makes great pizza, too.
Apart from the cornucopia of food, this family-friendly restaurant has “the most beautiful terrace in Geneva,” as stated in 2010 by the City of Geneva. Amongst the linden trees (“tilleul” trees), you can easily enjoy your post-dining limoncello al fresco.
If you want to bring the kids, not only are their high-chairs available (atypically Genevan…), the friendly waiters will bring you colouring pages and pencils to keep the wee ones occupied. Be sure to ask for the kid pizza as soon as you sit down for a fun surprise!
While not the most romantic of restaurants, Les Tilleuls has all the charm of a local restaurant with warm staff, great food, and a happy atmosphere.
Oh. They also do take-away!
