Have you ever dreamed of a place where everybody’s welcome, where you share all dinners on the same table, and where you can eat a fresh and delicious meal cooked in a solar oven? Lo’13’to* offers this convivial & utopic place, just a few meters from the main railway station!
Imane, the chef, is an incredibly creative, intelligent and open-minded chef and woman. Thanks to her, Lo’13’to becomes a daily melting-pot of people, experiences and flavours! She is also the pillar of this restaurant and the eponymous association, located in one building of l’Ilot 13 (check the L’écurie).
“Sustainability” has been at the heart of the restaurant’s aims since it opened 30 years ago. We find ecology in our plates and in the setting. Most of the food is hand-picked by Imane in the association’s garden or in the verdurous pots of terrace! And note that Imane’s energy prepares the food, but she is helped by a giant solar oven on sunny days.
The payment concept matches with the goal of solidary economics: regardless of how much you have in your bank account, you pay what you want or can (I suggest you donate an amount so that you support the project, which is yearly threatened with closure).
NB1. Only one veggie (mostly vegan) organic menu is usually prepared. Just try the day’s special; they always taste so fresh and intense! Unforgettable!
NB2. The opening hours may change according to Iman’s commitments.
*Lo’13’to : to be pronounced “L’autre restau”, which means ‘The other restaurant’.
