By looking at it from the outside, Saveurs d’Italie tempts you to taste all the food of this delicatessen. The shop window always exposes mountains of Limoncello bottles or panettone coming directly from Italy.
Saveurs d’Italie is divided into two spaces. The shop is the first one and offers a great selection of delicatessen, such as fine olive oil, wine, grissini or ham. The family cantina is in the second space. This kind of secret room has a long and unique table around which the guests have lunch side by side. Homemade risotto, pasta and ravioli are the specialities.
Many people come to Saveurs d’Italie for its large selection of wine, which is a viewing and tasting pleasure.
I generally go to this restaurant-shop for a sandwich. I choose a type of bread and my favourite ingredients – eg. Pecorino, rocket salad, grilled aubergine – and the welcoming owner meticulously prepares this simple but delicious snack. If it is not lunchtime I just appreciate buying fruits displayed outside the shop.
