Den Hoek Af is really the first coffee bar you encounter when you enter Ghent from South. So with a lot of parking nearby, it is a good place to grab your coffee on the go or take a breather when traffic is still too much to join in.
A big plus is that you can sit outside, right in the rays of sunshine. If the weather allows it that is. But inside it’s just as lovely to sit down, with great chairs and corners. The staff is friendly, but when you hide in a corner, it is best to alert them that you are there. Blind spots can be a blessing when you are set, but somewhat annoying if you want to order and they can not see you.
To top it off, their coffee is good and it’s one of the more cosier corners to order a takeaway coffee to feel like a dandy New Yorker on the move. If you are more of a tea kind of guy or girl, they prepare their own iced teas and they are quite delicious!
