I used to be very uncomfortable in lingerie stores. Scared even. Those big cups gazing down at you from everywhere, in all different shapes and sizes. The big ones were the worst. And then all the colours.
But then it even got worse. A strange older lady, smelling just like old ladies smell, just opened the fitting room to see if everything was ok. Needless to say, my closet was not ready to be in the books yet, but now this can change.
Marieke Van Pee, a young frisky woman and former journalist, turned her life around and opened a lingerie store of her own, for women like me to feel at ease. She is really excited and has a lot of knowledge about bras and panties. It is not just a steel wire and some textile to hide under your shirt.
With her I am comfortable, although it took some thawing as well. It is a new experience to be dressed in your intimates by someone your own age, but then again, they really know what is going on in a woman’s mind in her thirties, today.
She also blogs, in Dutch, about lingerie and motherhood on overappelsenperen.be
