Last year I used to live just up the hill from Nice N Sleazy’s so it soon became a frequent watering hole for my flatmates and I. I liked the atmosphere of the club. It is, I imagine, like the legendary New York grunge club CBGB’s but without quite the same amount of filth. Upstairs the bar is dark and fairly grungy. Good music is played in the background and the bar is well stocked with a large selection of bottled and draught beers. My flatmates and I liked coming to the bar for a evening drink and we always ended up meeting some fellow minded people. Also we were all big fans of the White Russians for £ 2.00, although maybe one or two were probably enough. Downstairs is what Sleazy’s is really known for- its live music. Small bands and songwriters grace the permanent stage downstairs and frequently attract a large crowd. These bands are normally unknown and unsigned but they are usually of a really high standard. The gigs are normally free of charge so it makes a great platform for these bands to get spotted. So if you want to see the next big thing head along to Sleazy’s!
