On occasion, I treat myself to one of those shopping trips where my wardrobe is in for a serious upgrade. You will be able to see me walking up and down Buchanan Street like a donkey cursed with ever-increasing saddlebags. This is a pleasing, but tiring process. As I am not a fan of the energy drink giving wings, I often find myself calling up a friend and opting for more tasty fuel in the side streets. Riverhill Café, Restaurant and Bar is a lifesaver on those days.
This is a small and cozy spot with fabulous food ranging from creamy mac and cheese to piping hot ramen soup. As you can tell, the menu is diverse, but is linked by fresh and locally sourced ingredients. My personal favorite is their halloumi sandwich.
This place proudly serves Glaswegian coffee from Dear Green, and also whips up some smashing cakes – remember to leave room for dessert. Riverhill’s portions are generous, so if you have reached your limit, visit Riverhill Coffee Bar (right around the corner) and grab a muffin to go instead.
If your tummy, just like mine, has a tendency to start rumbling when shopping, look out for the iconic light blue entrance of Riverhill Café, Restaurant and Bar on West Nile Street.
