This location is no hidden spot but one of the nicest outdoor points around the Außenalster when you long for a nice view and a little snack. The Alsterperle is the inhabitant of a former public toilet cottage located directly at the water’s edge with enough space and green lawns around. So don’t worry if you notice a long queue at the self-service counter – it won’t take long and if you can’t get a place at the provided standing-height tables you are free to sit on the public green or at the bank with your feet in the water.
They offer snacks like pea soup, sausage and bread or potato salad and beer, wine, prosecco or coffee, cake and ice cream. I like it there because it is a very uncomplicated and relaxed place if you are not bothered by a bit “see and be seen” of the Hamburger jet set. It is also a nice spot for children, because you’ll find a swing beside the cabin and enough space without speeding cars. Kids can feed swans and ducks.
Many people come here for a relaxed beer or wine after work, and in the evening you can experience the best sunset view of Außenalster.
