Cafe May is one of my favorite spots and is much more than its name suggests: it’s a cafe, a bar and a bakery in one! Scattered across town in 8 different locations, you’ll notice that they all have a particular style in common: large front windows providing lots of natural light, comfy sofas and armchairs, as well as seats and benches covered in red crushed velvet. Nonetheless, each location is unique and has their own playful interpretation of the design elements and furniture.
A cozy and relaxed atmosphere, a young and friendly staff as well as a menu with affordable prices attract a wide range of customers. Even though they offer free wifi here, you won’t find too many people working on their computers (I might be one of them) as most people come here to hang out and enjoy each other’s company.
During the week (09:00 – 14:00), they offer a small breakfast buffet for only € 4.40 per person. On weekends, you pay € 3 more for a large buffet and half the price for children under 7. I suggest that you make reservations because it is very popular, especially on weekends!
In addition, they serve light lunches or dinners including salads, soup, baked potatoes, and croques. For drinks you can choose from a variety of juices, tea, coffee, cocktails and beer. One highlight in the evening is that they even serve complimentary rolls and pastries that were not sold during the day!
