The “Kajüte” is one of my favorite spots amongst all other spots I’ve already written about. It’s simply breathtaking to sit on a floating restaurant & cafe on the Alster Lake and to watch the catboats while enjoying the sun shining on your face.
In summer you will sit outside and watch the surfers and sailors, enjoying a fresh breeze or chill out in the evening watching a fantastic sunset or enjoying the twilight and the night in the light of torches and candles.
In winter it is the perfect spot to take a break from your walk around the Alster Lake and to warm up with a hot drink in “the wintergarden” (see picture above).
The “Kajüte” is simply the personification of Hamburg’s pure maritime and seaside flair at any time of the season. It doesn’t matter if you stay only for a coffee or for a meal. Every guest is welcome as long as there is enough space. The service is excellent and very helpful.
I loved the fish dishes very much and claim they are a real secret tip! This place is definitely a must have seen in Hamburg.
