Kletterwald Hamburg is a good address for some adventure and – the higher you get – some thrills and bursts of adrenaline… I confess, it is not my favorite, but for my husband and our two sons, aged 7 and 8, it is heaven on earth. For a visit the kids should have a body height of over 115 centimetres. Reservation is required, you can do so via Internet or by phone.
The Kletterwald offers seven routes of different difficulty levels, starting with the Niagara Trail and a height of 2 meters up to the Hillary step in about 10 meters. Did I mention that you shouldn’t have a problem with height phobias…? Every route ends at the “Flying Fox”, a nice reward in the form of a really shaky ropeway.
For climbing you need to wear sturdy footwear and your waist should be covered for a good fitting of the climbing harness. Leave jewellery and such at home.
Kids are allowed to climb, from the age 5 to 10 only accompanied by an adult. Smaller children meanwhile can play on the playground on the property. One ticket will last for 2.15 hours, and you will climb about 2 hours.
The Kletterwald is easy to reach by public transportation via U-Bahn station “Meiendorfer Weg”. If you come by car, you can use the Park + Ride garage and you get a parking fee refund.
