The Kräuterhaus may be a spot which divides people in two groups – you love it or you don’t. First of all the smell when you enter the room – very intense and overwhelming, it wraps you up completely and it will accompany you the rest of the day. Other people will know, “ahh, you were at the Kräuterhaus!”
This company maintains a kind of philosophy, the preservation of ancient knowledge about healing herbs and essences, old recipes and the effect of different spices and aromatics. Some would call it humbug but I believe in that handed down lore, and it has often helped me out.
The women at Kräuterhaus are very competent and seem to me like those shamans and herbalists of ancient times who helped to keep a whole village in good health. And they are also well known for their helpful tea for horses! Whatever the problem is you can ask them for a tea mixture or the right essence. They know everything about home remedies and offer to compile special mixtures for you.
The teas and herbs you can get there are stored in nice looking old containers with the written botanical names on it and most of them don’t contain any additives and herbicides. The Kräuterhaus also offers natural cosmetics and hair-care products and they run a webshop as well. In the webshop you’ll also find tips and a very useful herb lexicon.
