When I travel to Berlin, I always love to visit the beautiful flea markets of our capital city. Flea markets in Hamburg are quite different, not so fancy and there are just fewer of them. But Kulturflohmarkt Barmbek is a little Berlin-like – get ready for Kulturflohmarkt Barmbek!
Just beside the museum of labor every other month lots of vendors offer a nice mixture of rummage, second hand, furniture and contents. New things are forbidden! I like the nice setting of the Kulturflohmarkt Barmbek in front of the historical buildings and next to the Osterbek canal and there are no new products for sale. It’s a nice public setting with mostly private offerers who’ve mucked out their closets.
You should bring good weather with you — there are no roofs. If the sun is shining, the market gets crowded pretty soon. For satisfying your appetite you will find some market stands for different tastes on the property, offering barbecue or crepes. Located nearby is the restaurant T.R.U.D.E.
The market is easy to reach by public transport via Barmbek station.
