Mama Trattoria – Buon appetito

Mama Trattoria is a nice and fresh location for a good lunch and a nice after-work time with dinner at the inner city in the direct neighborhood to the main town hall of the City of Hamburg. The place convinced me with a very friendly, helpful and good service and a nice interior design (as you can see in the picture). The minimalism and indirect lighting of the place create a very smooth and nice atmosphere.

The dishes are Italian originals and very delicious. The prices range in between € 4.80 for antipasti and € 13.00 for a large main meal like pasta, pizza and tuna specialties. The house wine is good as well.

Mama Trattoria for me means the re-interpretation of “Italy Mum’s Good Kitchen” but adapted to the needs of today’s people: fresh, light, easy but rustic as well. I think they took this challenge very well.

And seriously, when I saw the place in first time I thought it would be just another franchise restaurant. But I was so wrong and my visit taught me otherwise: For me “Mama Trattoria” became a great location where I regularly escape to Italy – at least for a while!
