My family has a strong connection to Portugal as my mum used to live and work there when she was my age, so we spent many holidays in this beautiful country. Café Cale brings a little bit of that Portuguese warmth to Helsinki, with delicious coffee and the famous national typical pastry, Pastel de Nata.
The owners came to Finland 8 years ago and I am glad that this spot was recommended to me. It is so cozy and relaxing, I can’t wait to try more things off their menu. There’s not much space, only a couple of tables. Decorated with both Finnish and Portuguese memorabilia, they managed to merge the charm of both countries well. Luckily it’s located very conveniently, just a few minutes walk from Helsinki Kamppi centre, so it will be easy for me to drop by and treat myself to a taste of Portugal.
