Bar Rytmi – Rhythm of the Kallio district

Rytmi means rhythm in our language. I used to live in this district and went to Bar Rytmi quite a lot. Sometimes for a glass of wine and sometimes just to have a glass of lemonade.

It’s one of those places where very different kind of people, from young to older, seem to sit in harmony and enjoy their time. You may go there in large group or just alone and you feel comfy.

Why is this spot is so special then? These days in Helsinki it is hard to find an internet cafe. If you don’t have an iPhone or computer Bar Rytmi has one one for you. Of course they have WLAN for smartphones or laptops.

Some Saturdays – starting at 19:00 – they have live music – if you ask me the performers are one of the tops performers in Finnish music scene today. And they play for free. No entrance fee.

During weekdays the place is more or less an after work or after sports place. It’s not a fancy drink bar, but has been a true urban and 100% local Helsinki bar since the year 2000! Rytmi is a good starting bar or last bar.
