This spot is a bit outside the city center, but worth checking out, especially if you find yourself in the northern parts of the inner city. Käpylä is an absolutely charming neighborhood, defined especially by its history hosting the athletes competing in the 1952 Summer Olympics, the quarters of Olympiakylä and Kisakylä were built for them. Käpylä has also beautiful wooden quarters known as Puu-Käpylä, “wooden Käpylä”. Especially the street of Pohjolankatu is beautiful, surrounded by the wooden houses and trees and the tram rails going in the middle of the street.
So, after walking around in this beautiful neighborhood, you might find yourself hungry and in need of good coffee. If so, the answer is Cafe Sose! Cafe Sose is a small and a very cute cafe, with second-hand furniture and art on the walls. Their menu is vegetarian and vegan and uses a lot of local seasonal ingredients.
Cafe Sose is a great place to have a coffee break, but they also serve delicious lunch and, on weekends, also brunch.
