Kiasma Museum of Contemporary Art is located in the very heart of Helsinki city and it is quite an essential modern building and hard not to miss if you are walking around the city. When they first built this museum I did hate the whole building and the architecture. I did not visit it in the beginning – but over time I have learn to love this Museum. Today it is one of my favourite museums in Helsinki for several reasons. During summer time they have one of the best sunny terraces in the city center. The cafeteria is bit expensive – but I still love the space and the light at the cafeteria. The museum shop is one of the best little shops in Helsinki and they have a great book selection. The museum? I love the space, the architecture and now that I have a kid, it is actually a great place to visit children! Usually one is not allowed to touch the art in museums – but most the time they have exhibitions where one is allowed to touch and feel installations. Or they have really nice video installations. Some are not suitable for kids, but then we pass those. Until 27th November 2011 the MUST SEE exhibition is ARS 11. ARS 11 is a major international art event filling Kiasma with artworks, performances, screenings, discussions and workshops. Details about this spot (Show on map)
