Ihana kahvila is, like its name suggests, a “wonderful” café, temporarily set up at the edge of town in the Kalasatama area which is under construction at the moment. Being basically a container with a small shop and café in it, this place is really one of a kind. What is really cool about it though is the location: beyond the (festival) area of Suvilahti, across a major development site and all the way at the end of a major graffiti art wall, at the docks – seemingly in the middle of nowhere, yet so close.
The view of Helsinki from there is breathtaking and I could linger in their beanbags or the hammocks for hours while sipping coffee and munching muffins. Really, people, that view!!
It might be a bit of a pain to get there if you don’t have a bike and also with a bike, it is quite the adventure to find it. There are some signs around and directions written on the streets, so keep your eyes open – or just ask. It will be worth it!
